COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL
INTERVENTION THERAPY (CBITS)
A school-based group therapy intervention addressing symptoms of trauma designed for middle school and high school students. CBITS was piloted in Dickson Schools in 2019 and is made possibly by a partnership between Carter County Health Department, Community Youth Services of Southern Oklahoma, and Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers.
BOUNCE BACK
CBITS adapted for elementary schools students. Bounce Back was piloted in Lone Grove Schools in 2019 and a Bounce Back group was added at Dickson Schools in 2020. Bounce Back is also made possibly by a partnership between Carter County Health Department, Community Youth Services of Southern Oklahoma, and Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers.
ACE INTERFACE TRAINING
NEAR SCIENCE TRAINING
A certified training from ACE Interface, a collaboration of Dr. Rob Anda and Laura Porter, on Adverse Childhood Experiences and NEAR (Neuroscience, Epigenetics, ACEs, and Resilience) Science. ABHC Director, Ellen Roberts, is a Certified Community Resilience Trainer along with 30 other professionals in the state.
CORE IMPLEMENTATION TEAM
Workplace teams working to move organizations along the trauma-informed spectrum. ABHC can guide non-profits, businesses, government entities, etc. through the process of creating a team to evaluate where their organization is on the trauma-informed spectrum and develop a plan to continue to become more trauma-informed.
HABITUDES
A leadership group for high school students to build skills and strengthen relationships. Select Dickson High School students participated in Habitudes in 2020. ABHC provides Habitudes curriculum and volunteer development for schools wanting to implement Habitudes and businesses or organizations that would like to sponsor a group at a local high school.
RESILIENCE SCREENING
Screenings and panel discussions of the documentary, Resilience: The Biology of Stress and the Science of Hope. ABHC can provide in-person or virtual screenings of the documentary and follow up discussion.
TEACHING WITH HOPE
A professional development opportunity for schools to provide support and mental health resources for educators.
