Talk Saves Lives

An introduction to suicide prevention, Talk Saves Lives, is a community-based presentation that covers the general scope of suicide, the research on prevention, and what people can do to fight suicide. 

​

This program provides participants with a clear understanding of this leading cause of death, including the most up-to-date research on suicide prevention, and what they can do in their communities to save lives.

​

Participants will learn common risk factors and warning signs associated with suicide, and how to keep themselves and others safe. 

​

Open to anyone

​

Meets training requirements from the Oklahoma Department of Education

​

Cost: $0 per person

Deana Tharp

Deana is the Chief Clinical Compliance Officer at Lighthouse Behavioral Wellness Centers.  During her long tenure at Lighthouse she has served in direct clinical and administrative roles.  She has worked extensively with individuals with trauma issues, depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation.  She has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Oklahoma and Texas since 1995.  She received her master's degree in counseling at the University of North Texas in 1991.  Deana has been a certified trainer in AMSR since 2021.
